    The E11 corolla looks good.

    I like the last pic.

The body shape looks like our corolla that was around from 1998 to current model, but the lights look different.

Saab 900 S 2.0L, only complaint i got is that the steering isa bit too vertical and the gear stick a wee bit small. Can't complain for 900 bob though lol.

So that's what it was! Should I be ashamed to admit that it looked like your dad had gotten rid of the Carina and bought a Jag XKR when you sent me that MMS

What's it like in comparison to the Golf?

LOL, I know, it does look very XK8ish from that pic. To be honest, it's a very lame car. Only thing it has about it are its looks. Interior is very cheap, rattly and squeaky. Steering & brakes feel very old (it's only a 6 month old car too!). The engine is nothing special either.

And boy does is it hurt if you drive over a catseye

I also say that the Golf feels a hell of a lot safer to drive fast, and the TDI engine feels a lot faster than the 1.8 in this. Doesn't have ABS either - figured this out after leaving a nice long 11 on the dual carriageway

Got it for a few days yet, so going to be practicing my drifting a bit more.

He let me drive it last weekend, you can feel the variable valve timing kick in at 4,500 rpm, it was damn good fun. He says it's very uncomfortable on long journeys though.

I quite like the Golfs, but they are a little bit boxy (no offence Nick ) . Not a fan of the whole BMW image thing either. I do like the Audi A4 though - might see if I could get an A4 Quattro sport within my rather limited budget
If you have a job which involves a lot of driving, go for something with a VW sourced diesel - such as an A3/4 TDI. I've got the 1.9TDI 105bhp one which isn't slow, but you can get 130 and 150bhp engines too.

Ragging it about around town, it is actually quite difficult to get LESS than 40mpg! Driving conservatively (sticking to under 80mph) from Stansted to Watford, I managed a 60mpg average
