Well i ordered it lastnight at 8PM and good old ebuyer had it here at 12PM today (from England to Scotland over night isnt bad)
so first thing i done was try overclocking, i got it from 500/1GHz to 550/1.15GHz
the ram does 1.17GHz but gets to hot for my liking and the core gets very very hot at stock speeds thanks to a poorly finished HSF so its getting lapped and some decent thermal paste on it soon.
i managed to get 3401 in 3dmark 2005 which is not bad considering im only running 512MB of ram for a couple of days (mates machines down and needs it untill he gets a replacement) and also my CPU is a bit of a bottle neck as overclocking didnt make too much difference.
im soo happy, got to take my hat of to XFX they included:
1.a very very good user manual and install guide (ok us guys dont need them but for first timers)
2. a driver disk with latest Nvidia drivers
GAMES:
Nascar thunder 2004
Commandos 3
X2 the Threat (what ever that is )
Shuttle System l Intel Core2Extreme l 8GB Ram l 64GB OCZ SSD l Windows 7 Ultimate X64
IBM ThinkPad T60 l 2GHz Core2Duo l 4GB Ram l 60GB Kingston SSD l Windows 7 Ultimate X64
what tool you were using to OC the card? I have 2 6800GT's from XfX and was thinking about ocing them a little.
And I agree, the bundle is pretty good that comes with the card. I ended up with so many PCI-X power adapters between them and Antec, I don't know what to do with them! The games are okay, but I was never a big fan of Commandos...
Compy 1 (Brand New as of 2/7/07):
P5N32-E SLI w/ C2D E6600 at stock (for now)
Zalman CNPS9700 cooler
2GB Corsair DDR2800 @ 5-5-5-15 @1.9v
1x EVGA 8800GTX (stock)
1 150GB Raptor+ 250GB WD Internal SATA's
250GB WD Backup Drive
2x Plextor DVD burners, IDE
2x Plextor DVD burners, SATA
Audigy2 w/ Klipsch 2.1's
Black Silverstone TJ-07
PC P&C 510W SLI PSU
Dell 30" LCD
i used Coolbits which is a registry tweak for the nvidia drivers so when you go into your drivers you get to overclock from there.
also i just put some of the thermal paste that came with my ATI silencer on the 6600GT and lowered the idle temperature by 3C from 59C to 56C

ive not got a clue mate, i would think it would adjust the clock speed on each card from the one slider but ive not got a clue as ive never used sli

hm looks like you got one of those not so well made hsfans, bummer
I guess you can always get a better cooler
In my case temps were around 40C and went up to 70C if using something like: rthdribl
which, as far as I know, is just about the only way to get the exact reading on how hot 6600GT is when working in 3D
EDIT I just checked my old thread and seen the temp went up to 50C in 2D (depending on how hot the inside of the case was)
so 54 you are getting isnt that far away
I am pretty sure it never went over 70C, maybe 72C when under heavy duty 3D load, checked with fore mentioned tool. So you might wanna compare this with yours, to see where you are.

yea i didnt think id have another nvidia, infact i was going to get a 9800PRO untill i read the reviews.
im really happy with it but i need to see my mate to get my other 512MB of ram back to really test it in games.
im dying to get a new HSF for it though to see what the core can do.

Holy crap that case is organized!!! I am so envious. My case is a garbled mess of wires and such, it is ridiculous!! Feel like taking a trip across the pond to help me with mine??
I am curious to know what type of HSF you are thinking about geting, as I would like to replace mine as well. Let us know what you decidede on.

i spent an hour and a half tidying it for taking pictures
it wasnt easy with a PSU with long leads so took ages.
as for HSF im getting the Zalman VF700-CU REVIEW HERE
