Video card recommendation?

Recently acquired parts for new compy:

Chaintech Zenith series mobo
- nVidia Force 2 chipset
- 4x/8x AGP
AMD Athlon 2600
40G Maxtor 7200
512MB DDR
ATI AIW PCI

I also added my Win 98SE, 30G Maxtor and SB Live PCI

My video card is a bit outdated for my new system. I'm looking to spend ~$50 - $75 for an AGP card that will run well with my system for gaming. GeForce 3 doesn't sound too bad but I don't know anything about newer PC components (I was stuck on a PII before the new PC!) No problems with my PCI vid card, but can't do any of the newer games with it. Throw some suggestions!

Radeon 9550 might fit in that budget, but avoid the SE version with only a 64 bit memory bus. Look for the 128 bit version like this GigaByte GV-R955128D for $68.49 shipped:

eather an 8550 as stated above or if you can afford it a 9600PRO

Wait 2 few months save a little more and get an Nvidia 6600GT AGP.

Best card for the money right now IMO.

A 6600AGP will maybe get below $200 in a couple of months. That is no where near the $50-75 budget he stated.
