Hey all just letting you guys know that last night I went out and bought the first peioce of hardwarce for my new computer. I got a BFG 6800GT OC for only 400.00 with no tax because I went to Delaware to get it. The other parts I am getting are an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 90nm cpu, 1 gig of corsair ram, and and Abit AV8 pro mb. Im going to be putting my raptor hd into the new computer and then I will buy a new high volume sata drive for storage. Anyways here are some pics of the graphics card.
-AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 90nm -Abit AV8pro mb -Swiftech MCX6400-V cpu heatsink -BFG Nvidia 6800 gt oc to 425/1100 using nv silencer 5 on it.
-2x512 mb crucial memory dual channel -200gb seagate hd 7,200rpm 8mb cache -36gb WD Raptor hd 10,000rpm 8mb cache -400w raidmax powersupply w/ led fans
-Logitech Z-680 speakers -Creative Audigy 2 ZS
-21"HP 1800x1440@85hz CRT -Logitech mx1000 mouse (its powered by friggin lasers) -Lite-on 16x dvd drive -Lite-on 16x dvd-r/rw drive double layer -Platinum Xp case (moded with windows and other stuff)
I hope with Abit motherboard you get has bios 15 or higher (it might be 16 I cant remember) or else that setup wont boot because of the winchester core A64 you're buying.
Thats one of the reason why I went with the Asus A8V Deluxe.
Wow that would really suck. I hadent heard of that problem before. Anyways if it dosent work I guess I'll just have to keep RMAing it untill I get one to work.

i got my my av8 when they first hit newegg. the av8 is probably one of the most stable k8t800 boards out. the only problem i had was guru reporting extremely high cpu temps...but the latest bios and the new guru software fixed it right away..
hey scutzi...nice setup man. it should kick mucho azz. i have the same setup but with an fx-53.
why don't you buy another raptor and run those babies raid 0. for better performance...
sam.

I hope you enjoy that video card. I love mine if for nothing else then the exceptional quality of the build. This card is freakin heavy! AND beautiful. Glad to see that you got the newer version, BUT you will not be able to O/C it with the software provided. They apparently removed the 'auto-overclocking' feature so you will have to download different drivers with this feature still intact. Best of luck with your system build!
