Memory for over clocking.......

Right now I have two kingmax DDR430 sticks each at 256MB that runs at that speed stable at 8 4 4 2.5 with 2.7V but now im looking for something that can run at similar speed but with lower latency and they have to be 512MB.......... does anyone know of any good and low cost memory that is most likely able to do that??? thanks

Well a lot of the better PC-3200 can likely do that, but it is the luck of the draw. My Geil Ultra PC-3200 can do 400Mhz at 2-6-3-3 at 2.5v, so it likely can get up there OK. I paid just under $50 a stick, but they run about $60 now.

This is some cheap Kingmax DDR433 that is supposed to do cas 2.5 at 2.5v and costs $86 a stick, most people got good results with this memory on NewEgg, but a few had lots of problems:

After this the prices sky-rocket at NewEgg for PC-3500 (DDR433) to about $145. KingMax even had some cheap PC3700 (DDR466) cas3 stuff for $91, while all the other PC-3700 was $160, but the PC-4000 (DDR500) seemed to be a better deal with a few good ones at $145-160.

That KingMax seems insainly cheap. I'm wondering if a vender is selling overclocked memory that they "tested at these speed". I used to find lots of Samsung memory overclocked like this on the internet back in the days of PC-2100 and PC-2700. The stick of this crap that was supposed to be PC-2700 that I picked up only handles about 150Mhz tops.

I also found that at NewEgg at least the best memory seems to be in the dual memory packs. If you want really good stuff you have to pay for it. This is some OCZ Enhanced Latency Dual Channel Series Memory 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3500 that is rated for an insain 2-3-3-7 T1 at 2.7v, but runs $275 for the pair:

They had OCZ Performance Series Dual Channel Kit 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3500 that could do 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.6v for only $223:

How about some OCZ Enhanced Latency Dual Channel Gold 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-4000 that will do 500Mhz at 2.5-4-4-7 and 2.8v for $297:

... or 533Mhz for $335:

According to AnandTech, some of the higher speed memory sticks do not neccissarily run at lower speeds with more aggressive timings. Some of the low latency sticks actually can actually run better at lower speeds as some are designed to run insainly good timings.

I gues thats what I got now....... It won't run at lower Latency even if I set it at 333Mhz but will do 433 with no problem....... damn wiht the prices thought..... thats whay to much I'll wait and see if they drop a little and then I'll just get some good ammount of it

You might be waiting a while. Like I said I paid $48 for my memory about 6 months ago and now they are around $63. They might go down a bit, but not much. With the newer systems all using 400Mhz DDR, only the slower speed memories will likely go down much.
