As if you needed another reason to get HL2, it's been confirmed that CS Source will indeed be included with retail version of HL2. I will most likely install CSS first and then eventually get around to HL2.
If pro is the opposite of con, what's the opposite of progress?
Originally posted by Bink Besides, the vids and screens of CS2 in action look horrid, in that very little has been reworked for CS2, except for the engine around it.
If it ain't broke

If they had changed anything BUT the engine I'd be pissed. They knew what they were doing. They're not trying to alienate the hundreds of thousands of CS players around the world. They're merely trying to bring us into the 21st century.

I am not joking about either of them. Steam is poor and since 1.6, anyone can be half decent at the game and that made a lot of people who have put YEARS into becoming a top player at CS pi$$ed.
IMHO, since Valve took over CS has turned into to much of a money scheme than the #1 online game it used to be when it was FREE. All the changes they made/make were/are geared towared people who bought the game AFTER it went final. This in turn made the game easier for the beginner so that more games could be sold.
I know a lot of people who were big into League play that flat out quit after 1.6 was adopted by the leagues\tournaments. These are the same players that would practice 6 nights a week with their respective teams and never come out of their houses except to get there PC Gamer Mag from the mailbox.
Like it was said............nothing was broke and there was/is no need to fix anything. There was no need to change the gameplay like the did from 1.5 to 1.6. The only thing that was needed was better anti-cheats.
I wonder how much of a mess CS:S is going to be.
I think Valve is trying to change the game play to make it as realistic as possible but why change something that has worked for 4 years before they got their hands on it?

The graphics looks unbelievably bland. The gameplay had better be good to make up for it!
Athlon XP 3200+, TT Silent Boost (its rubbish as well as loud) Gigabyte nForce2 mobo (stable but lacks tweaking options), GF4 Ti4200 128mb, Lian-Li V2000
Actually, I have seen about 15 different CS:S preview movies. The graphics look really good IMHO but I do not like how they are changing the environments (objects can be moved and what not).
I just wish they would let stuff well enough alone that has worked since 1999 and just port CS 1.5 to the new engine and not make these huge changes that will pi$$ more long-time CS players off.
HERE are quite a few movies from the CS Nation movie-base.
