I am looking to buy a new DVD writer to replace my external HP (not too happy with it, but what can you expect). I think that I am going to go for a dual layer since the prices are pretty reasonable, does anyone have any suggestions for a some good models? I have been trying to look for a 12x +/-R that also does dual layer, but can't find any. Is there such a beast?

Secondly I noticed that the format is DVD +R9, do you know if there will be a -R9 in the near future? I bought my HP at the time when +R looked to be a good bet, however now almost all writers are dual format, so I don't want to be left in a lurch again.

Finally does anyone have media out yet for the +R9?
