i would wait for a revision on the epson r series.
I have an r200 and it works great when you help it. The cd tray gets stuck while printing and it needs to be pushed while going. This sucks as you might imagine and it seems almost everyone is having the problem.
Epson is in a little trouble i suspect, this is not a localized problem. It even took them over a week to reply to my complaint and even then they dodged my question believe me, theyre getting this same email from everyone, i wouldnt be surprised if they offer repair, we deserve it at least

I have been looking for a CD/DVD printer and the Epson is the only one that comes willing to print to CD. The push_the_tray to get it started senario seems to be the only down side.
Outside of a dedicated media printer, the Epson is the only one available. The R200 was $84 at NewEgg last week.
dont get me wrong, it prints nice. Not as fast as canon's but the quality is the same
I only bought the r200 to print on cd's. and ive done over 50 so far and its still going, i just have to keep remembering to 'nudge' it when it starts.
Im thinking of ways to fix this though, its almost certainly a lack of friction that is keeping it from moving in. I may rough up the tray a bit with sand paper, though im waiting to see if epson is gonna give me a real answer first
Only other thing i dont like is even the third party ink carts are still over $20 a set, but they are falling in price regularly as this is a new model.
We use 5 R200's for duplication at work and they work great for cd printing. We also have the 'push tray' problem, but who cares, it is a dedicated job for us anyway. Incidentally, we have done literally hundreds of cds on each.
