Radeon 9800SE to 9800pro Sweet!

I got my PowerColor 9800SE today soft modded to 9800 pro w/Omega 5.22 drivers and it works perfect! $159 WooHoo!

But not without worries... I had my Barton 2500 XP-M running @2750 mhz rock solid 1.9v Then I installed the 9800SE with modded Lg fan, NO BOOT, nothing, pulled cmos jumper and she booted up @600 x 100 and finally see a picture. Had to lower nice OC just to save enough power for the video card, 300 watt PS isn't enough LOL! All is doing fine @ 2520 mhz. Checked w/Riva Tuner for the 8 pipelines enabled, Yes! Screams thru 3D mark, haven't OCed yet.

I just ordered my AthlonXP-M 2500+ a few minutes ago from NewEgg. I dont think I'll push the voltage that high. What voltage does yours need to do 2.4-2.5Ghz? That is my target if my RAM holds out.

You think this little CPU at 2.5Ghz could take on an P4 EE at 3.2Ghz or an AthlonFX 51 at 2.2Ghz?

I was doing 2605 mhz with 1.8v 2750 with 1.9v Its @ 2520 now with 1.75v I just scored 5400 3dMark points with this new video card. I need to get a bigger PS, I have a powerfull 300w true power but still need more power for all my fans and stuff.

I am wondering if these new drivers make the checkerboard affect less apparent from the softmod. Glad to hear it worked out for someone doing the softmod.

I have this machine running great now @ 2600+ mhz, 12.5 x 208 1.8v rock solid no problems. Set ram to aggressive settings 8-3-3-3-2.5 I think, Video card runs perfect too, latest 3DMark score 5466. I tried OCing video card, bumped up a little twice with no problems, when core speed reached slightly over 430 I got artifacts, black screen, reboot, anything less than that was fine. I dont need to OC this card, its so fast and worlds different than my old GF4 Ti4200, played AA in a few different maps with eye candy turned up high and it just flows smoothly. I'm glad I installed a big fan on its heatsink, its pumping out some serious heat! Oh and yes these Omega drivers are excellent, great stability and loaded with special features and tweaks.
