How fancy of editting are you planning on doing. You are paying for the software and nothing more with that Pinnicle Box. I used the editting software built into Windows (Windows Movie Maker 2) for my Sony digital camcorder. I import it over my FireWire in strait DV format and edit it with WMM2. I then output it to WMV9. Pretty easy. I do have a TV tuner card and I think it will output to a strait AVI or MPEG2 or WMV if needed. My first TV tuner was an ATI TV Wonder VE that I picked up for $30 on sale. My Radeon 9700Pro All in Wonder is much better (better picture and sound), but for $30 the TV Wonder VE was pretty good. I hooked it up to my VCR and copied a few movies for the kids to WMV without any trouble.
