    heatsink choice for custom case.

i've built a wooden custom case for my linux server (specs in sig) and i'm looking getting a new heatsink for it as my small Volcano2 heatsink (orange arrow) and Vantec stealth 120mm fan (blue arrow).. although does the job.. i know i can do better. esspecially if i plan on upgrading the CPU any time soon.

i'm still working on the case.. and i'll hopefully have a few more pics (better quality) sunday or monday.

Maybe one of those flower coolers from Zalman if it sits the right way for that 120mm fan to blow through it.

Just use the fan that comes with it to cool your graphics card instaed. Its only $20 and comes with a fan controller too.

i've been looking at those heatsinks and are pretty sweet.. my question is.. if having the fan positioned above it would it be able to cool the entire heatsink ~semi evenly.. as i could see the bottom half probably getting hotter hten the top.. in which case i'd probably want to put another fan in there somehow.

*edit.. i don't live in the US .. so i can't get stuff from newegg.com

That's a very interesting case. Why wood?

And you can find that Zalman cooler in Canada here.
