    CIS or CCD?

Wanna buy new scanner, but i still have two choices.

Canon Lide 30 (CIS) or Canon Canoscan 3000 (CCD)

    anyone knows what's best?

    Always get a CCD scanner.

The only advantage a CIS scanner has is that it is very small and slim and usually cheaper.

In any other aspects, a CCD scanner is always better.

Though Canon does make/has made some very nice CIS scanners. I suggest looking at reviews to determine which scanner other people like better.

Still, even the best CIS scanner is no match for a CCD scanner.

BTW, I wouldn't get a Canon anyway. Get an Epson scanner.

Fast, reasonable and good TWAIN software and of course excellent scans.
