    modding fx5900 and 9800nonpro

    can either of these cards be modded to a fx5900ultra or a 9800pro??

    XaserIII v2000a - 520w OCZ Powerstream
    2407fpw, 2x 2007fpw, 37" WS HDTV LCD

    You don't really have to mod them at all. It just takes a bit of overclocking. The 9800pro's core/mem are just clocked higher than the 9800np; the same thing is true with the FX5900.

    so you get the performance of a ultra from a fx5900 and the performance of a pro from a 9800 if you overclock?
    and is this overclocking possible?

    Yes use,

    Radclocker
    Rage3dtweaker
    Rivatuner

    For radeons. Riva tuner will work for nvidias also but it has been along time since I really OC'd a nvidia or really personally owned one.

    actually, u can flash the 9800np's bios to make it a pro version....it will then be clocked the same as pro....and u can still o/c some more...i've done it...
