...but maybe these ones will make my mouse or modem blow up too

Thanks for the heads up MuFu. Age of Mythology momentarily threw me to the desktop complaining about some video error. I was able to Alt+Tab back in though and play for a few more hours with no noticable problems. That's the first problem I'd had with the Catalyst 3.8's, so the 3.9's are probably just in time

Nevermind the drivers dident solve my problem. I had to revert back to 3.7s to solve the problem.

They do now have a fix for the 3.9 drivers that does work with Call of Duty and works with Radeon 9700Pro AIW cards. It is basically an early version of the 3.10 drivers (always thought it would goto 4.0). This is the blurb from [H]ardOCP:

    ATI Smoking Hot Fix:
ATI has issued a hotfix for the Cat3.9 driver. This hotfix is an early version of CATALYST 3.10 and is available for users suffering the following problems:

The OpenGL driver does not load on All-In-Wonder products
System hangs while playing Call of Duty
Texture/triangle flashing while playing IL2 Sturmovik

    Download it HERE.

Please note that the hotfix driver is not Microsoft WHQL certified, and ATI recommends that users who are not seeing these issues wait for the fully supported, fully WHQL certified CATALYST 3.10 due in early December.

So if CoD and IL2 are working great and your AIW will OGL like NP, don't use this HF DA.
This is the link to ATI for the drivers. They work pretty good so far. I have to check them a bit more, but I tested them in the spot Call of Duty normally locks up for me and it worked fine.

    ATI and NVIDIA

So the Catalyst Drivers are to ATI as to Detonator Drivers are to Nvidia?

    someone clear things up here.

did ATI nickname their drivers now?

Kind of. The Catalysts are actually a software suite that includes the drivers, Control Panel, Multimedia Centre, uninstaller etc.
