3dmark2001 SE Score with P4 2.6 (800Mhz) and GeForce4 Ti 4200, is this normal?

Hi all,

I am using Asus i865PE Board with Pentium4 2.6 Ghz (800Mhz) Cpu. System memory is 512MB DDR (400Mhz) and the video card is Asus 128 MB GeForce4 Ti 4200 (250/444). Nothing is overclocked and I am using the latest BIOS and drivers.

My 3dmark2001 score is 12000 at 1024*768 @ 32bit

Is this normal?

I score 12,048 with my rig listed below. My CPU is likely about the same as a P4 2.2 or better, so you got me beat by a small marging there, but my graphics card is running at 275/550, so I'm beating you out there. You score is likely pretty average for your set-up. I'd overclock that card a bit. You should be able to bump the scores up another 500-1000 points. The memory on that card is likely holding you back. Overclock the core to 275 and see how far the memory will go. Even cheap ones usuall;y make it to 520MHz, but some of the better ones with better rated memory have made it to 600MHz.

My score is 11494 using EPoX 8RDA+, RAM is at 640MB (128+512), Leadtek Geforce4 Ti4200 128MB (310/526) default speed is at 250/446 and i'm using Athlon 2200+ processor at default speed..... Is this score acceptable?

yeah both scores are pretty average
tampoi you may want to try OC'ing your cpu and up it to 166mhz and lowering the multiplier if not actually changing the overall speed that should give you a nice boost since 3dmark2001 is memory crazy

Do you think that the reason i can't achieve the score 12000+ is probably that my processor is at a default speed and maybe because of the ram that i'm using cause right now i got it DDR266. The score i get for being stock speed at everything is 10463....

i agree with Marvt, 3dmark2001se is a fsb hog.
tamp0i, do you know what kind of ram you have? brand? speed?

with an 8rda, you could take the 128mb stick out and try setting your cas to 2 on the 512mb stick. that would give you a little boost. something like 2-4-4-8.

That is what i probably think..... Maybe i'll replace my Apacer ram with the upcoming Corsair XMS2700 which is 256+256. Right now my setting is 2-3-3-6.... Maybe after the replacement i should expect some more improvement

Well, I visited futuremark's web site and compared my 3dmark2001 se result with similar configurations and saw that the other scores are around 13000-14000. How are they getting these scores with P4 2.6 and GeForce4 Ti 4200? (And my score is 12000). Also my P4 2.6 is using 800mhz fsb (13*200mhz) instead of 533mhz.
