    will this matter?

I replaced my bad PS that was, I believe a 220 watt, with a 300 watt. Since then, my PC will sometimes shut down, when loading Win98, when S/Saver comes on, or once when CD drawer was opened. I just wondered if the different wattage would matter.
    Thanks.

    No.
If anything, increase is always better.

You have some other problems there.

Are you sure they gave you a good PS?

If these symptoms never occured w/ your old PSU when it was still good, then probably your new one is causing them.

It was the only one this little local shop had and it was real cheap. I think it was probably bad. Thanks.
