Yeah, if this is anywhere near as good a single-player experience as the first one was it'll be pretty awesome, regardless of whether the graphics are up to Doom3 or STALKER standards or not.
You just bounce around in that surreal alien world until you do a final battle with what appears to be a giant babies head. After dying a lot of times you kill the head and end up in a train carriage having a conversation with the 'director' who says come work for me (with an unpleasent alternative).
I can understand why you hated the alien bit. Why is it that aliens just want to kill kill kill. Its not constructive and I fail to see how they could survive on their plane when there appears to be no food sources or entertainment. One Gordon Freeman isn't going to feed many!

Sweet. Looks like it might just have all the enveloping creepiness of the first which would you have asked me yesterday i would have not thought possible. And how the hell did they keep this quiet for five years? Other than the slightest tidbit on slashdot every now and then i've heard almost nothing. Since when do gamers(developers) know how to keep their mouths shut?

I cant wait for HL2, i think i must of beat the first one about 3 times, then oposing force, then blue shift.. I loved them all. Half-life was the first game that really pulled me into it, even though it didnt have the best graphics for its time, IMO it had the best gameplay. I hope the second one is great, but i dont think it can be as good as the first.
