Best mousing surface?

I do alot of photo editing using Paint Shop Pro 7.0 and if the contrast between the color of the item with the white background isn't great enough, I sometimes "cut" the whole item out by hand using the mouse - instead of using the magic wand selector.

I use a Logitech Optical mouse (which is excellent) but can anyone recommend a real good mousing surface? My mouse movement needs to be as steady as possible!

The Hamster picked up a 3M Precise Mousing Surface a couple of weeks ago. Made for optical mice, cost around 20.00. Like it except for one thing, if it's on a slick surface it moves with the mouse. Had to use tape to keep it from sliding all over my work space (yeah right, like I can call this a work space). Since then, no problemo. Comes with a gel pad that you can use depending on your angle. I haven't seen it since the day I bought it. Hope this helps.

ditto on the 3M Precise Mousing Surface...looks good...works great...also happened to recieve good ratings from a computer magazine...not sure which one...i think it was Maximum PC...got mine for $7...it was on clearance at Staples a while back...
