to much thermal greese?

Would putting to much termal greese on a heatsink make the processor lock up?

Most likely not. But it will raise your cpu temps. The best application of thermal paste is when you put just enough on the core so you can no longer see the core underneath (no more shine means you're good). The application should be paper thin.

Well i definatley didnt do a very good job, i just took the heatsink off and wiped some off the cpu. hopefully it wont lock up anymore
