I am curious, the reason I am curious is, maybe I am getting less than what I should be getting. So here is the poll, and if you all can tell me what I should do, to increase performance, something lasting, without loosing much stability. Or heck, if the score I get is all ill get PERIOD.. Anyways.. Vote please..
BTW all this is STOCK, no o/cing..
Specs:
Athlon Xp 2700+
Radeon 9700
1GB Pc2700 Ram (samsung)
SCSI CD-ROM and Hard Drive
Epox 8k5a2+
Audigy 2
Also curious if anyone here thats getting high scores, stock speed with a equiv proc, has the newer revision of the card? The ATI tech dude said there is a newer revision..
Edit: I ran 3dmark and im getting the same score which is 14,000, ok ok 13998, but close enough. Shouldn't I be getting a better score than this???

There are experts in many fields, but one thing is certain. You don't have to be an expert to speculate.. So speculate on!
What tweaks can I do to get some extra performance? Wouldn't mind getting a few extra points . I have reached 14200 and 100, etc. But average at 14k. If ya have a basic list of what to do .. Would be cool.
Also I beleive I have the Radeon 9700 pro.. Is there a difference?? Because on that chart it says radeon 9700 and 9700 pro..

Someone may correct me on this, but I think the 9700 differs from the 9700 Pro only by GPU speed and memory speed. Everything else is the same.

You'll find a ton of information about ATi cards at Rage3d. The folks who hang out in their forum are sure to get your ATi 9700 Pro performing at its' optimum level.

Jumped from 11000 to 13600 when I switched from two sticks of 256mb generic PC2100 Cas2.5 to the 512mb OCZ stick. 3dmark is quite memory intensive. What memory timings do you have for your ram? Also higher fsb gives more bandwidth = higher score. You are running your 2700+ @ 333fsb?

Using Rage3DTweaker, under the D3D section set z-buffer compression to high and enable Fast Z Clear and Z Mask. You may get strange texture behavior by doing this, so turn off Fast Z Clear and Z Mask when you're done benching. Disable the screens in between tests in 3DMark, your nature score should shoot up at least 5fps. And setting your memory to the most aggressive settings will make a pretty big difference.
