Do any of these sights help get rid of Virtual Bouncer? I know there are some out there, but want to find one that will be trustworthy and actually work! I hate Pop Ups and Virtual Bouncer and Spyware!!! They make my computer time miserable!

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Most of the utilities mentionned in the first post can be obtained on a bootable CD called the UBCD (ultimate boot cd, not terribly original, but dang useful)
You can talk about "that" here

Remember that guy your mom warned you about? I beat the snot outta him.

    Hi all

Great list you have there. Just wondering, how many of you actually meddle with disk utilities anymore? It used to be a very big thing back in the early 1990s when hard disks had to be partitioned and you had to install FAT32, Linux and what not in those hard disks.

These days, most of the kids I know who set up PCs couldn't care less about partitioning their hard disks. All they want is convenience. Pop in the hard drive, just use the dang HUGE 160GB C:\ drive and go!

Whatz more important to them is apparently things like a network cable and broadband access. I tell you the kids these days couldn't care less about how Partition Magic (what version is it now?) partitions the hard drive, how many bad sectors there are and how you can defragment to optimize the speed of accessing data, ....

Diagnostic disk utilities still used to check condition(s) of HDDs.
