    partition HDD or not?

I've just bought a Western Digital Cavier SE 80Gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache Hard Drive, and was wondering if I should partition it. However since this is the first drive I've bought ober 10Gb I have a few questions:

    1. How many partitions should I make?

    2. What's the max space I should have in one partition?

    3. What are the benifits from partitioning? Is it so the drive won't have to read one large area to find one little file?

    4. Who wants to be my friend?

If you can help I'll buy you an icecream and pat you on the head.
