    best HS to pair with VOL9 fan?

    i brought the volcano 9 but the HS isn't really doing a good job i think..the fan i must say its good~
    what HS can i use to pair with this fan, not too expensive of course

    i want to keep the temp around 30C if possible.
    CPU will be XP2100+

    Yes keep the fan! Try either Thermal Right SK-7 or SLK-800 or even a SK-6+, their all excellent. Not sure if SK6+ will take 80mm fans, but the others will for sure.

    The SK-7 runs about $25+ $6 shipping at NewEgg. You can probably find it cheaper if you look around a bit. This fan fits an 80mm fan (70mm and 60mm too) and cools close to the SLK-800 (its bigger brother), but costs $12 less (off NewEgg again). You can get it here:

    This is without a fan too, but it it does come with all the spring clips to mount the differant sized fans:

    what temps am i looking at with SK-7 with the volcano 9 fan on xp2100+?

    can someone tell me about the SK-7? is it all copper etc..

    Didn't the pictures show up? Yes it is all copper and depending on case temps, fan RPM, room temp ect... You should be looking at around 40'C full load or less. This heatsink likely falls into one of the top 10 best cooling heatsinks out there right now and the price is pretty good.
