Video turning pink-ish shade..

My tower is located under my desk next to my feet. I rest my feet on it but sometimes the display turns pinkish until i put my legs back down on the ground. Then it turns pink again. I have to hit (not that hard though) to make it fade back to regular colors. Then it fades back...then pink..and so on.

What could be the problem causing this? it couldnt be the monitor since it fixed when i gently hit the tower. Is it the video card?

Check the card for proper connections is in tight , take it out then put it back in firmly, and check the cable on the monitor to the tower.

yeah sounds like when you put your feet on the box you knock the monitor cable out of the card

If the signal cable is one that can be removed from the monitor as well, check that end of the connection. The slight movement in the case when you put your feet up could be stressing it at either end, depending on how much slack the cable has.
