Radeon 9000 looks pretty good at about that price. Quite a bit faster than the 7500 and DX8.1 compliant too.

    Basic card, 50
    With DVI, 55
    VIVO model, 61

If he can stretch to the Radeon 9000 Pro it's quite a bit faster (275/275MHz vs. 250/200MHz).

i dont know if he could shell out extra for the pro version but if he could id probably try and get him to shell out more for an 8500
is that 9000 basic safe i would have liked a fan on there instead of a heatsink

    Hi,

The Pro version can be had for a shade over 70. Well worth it!

i'd go with the 9000 too BTW i've put a fan on mine - the heatsink ain't enough, I was getting locks in UT but a pentium fan has solved that!
