4x and 8x

Can anyone advise as to which would be a better proposition?
a GeForce 4 Ti 4600 chip AGP (I think they are 4x) or a GeFOrce 4 Ti 4200 (which I see are 8x capable) The card must have DVI output too.

erm depends on your budget ti4600 are quite a margin more than ti4200`s
also you can get an 8X ti4600 its under the cunning name of ti4800.
you can also get an 8x ti4400 under the name of ti4800se.

the difference between 8x and 4x though is minuscule. much like the difference between 2x and 4x and so on.

if you can afford it get the ti4600
or get an ATI radeon 9500pro cheaper and have similar performance to the ti4600 and beats it in when AA is used

That's the card I'd get too. Going by what has been said here in the past though, ATi cards seem a little pricey on your side of the world, mate. You might find that it costs a lot more than a Ti4600.
