ATI Radeon 9700 or Geforce 4 TI 4600

Hi I was just wonering whats a better card a ATI Radeon 9700 or a Geforce 4 4600 Ti? Any feedback is appreciated thanks.

The ATI 9700 Pro is definantly the King! But the 4600 is no Turd either.

I like nVidia's driver support better.
I like ATI's color and 2D Perforamance better.
More game vendors are in bed with nVidia.
ATI Just announced the 9700 (Non Pro) that should hopefully bring the price down to $250-$275.

Now the 9700 says it is 8x does that mean you need a special motherboard for the 8x feature? And if so does the Abit TH7II support it?

The TH7II only supports AGP 4X but the 9700 Pro should work fine with it as AGP 8X is backwards compatable.

Make sure you have a good power supply. From What i've read the 9700 Pro with its extra power connector can be quite power hungry.

Oh Yeah! Still mops the floor with it! Plus I would never advise someone to purchase a video card based solely on its AGP 8X capablilities. AGP 8X really doesnt offer that much of a performance increase. Not right now at least.

I would think any good 300watt power supply and up should suffice. And by good I mean the likes of: Enermax, Antec and HEC are the ones I prefer.
