Need help finding a driver for my gamepad and XP Pro

Hello all

I went to the Microsoft website and it says that I need to be a member of the Administrators group to get the right driver for my SideWinder Freestyle Pro gamepad.


I have absolutely no idea what that is or what it means??

Can someone point me to the right driver for my gamepad with XP Pro? or if someone has it can they email it to me if it's not too big?

Assuming you're the only person who uses your computer (ie no other user accounts), you should already have Administrative Priveledges. And since your gamepad is a Sidewinder, XP should have built in drivers for it. Just go to the Control Panel -> Game Controllers, open it and select "Add." Scroll down to near the end of the list and you should see "Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto Detect)." Just select that and the drivers should install.

I found the gamepad where you stated. I didn't remember how to find it, but I wrote it on my cue cards for further reference.
