UT Internet game... netspeed 2000 with cable?? uh??

Setting netspeed to 2000 is the only way I can get a decent ping in UT... down from the default 20000 for cable connections...
Anyone experiencing that?

What bugs me is that the net stats show me more bytes sent than received. I mean, shouldn't it be the other way round? I send stuff about myself but gets from all other players...

Are you on cable or the server your palying on?!? That's where netspeed comes in... If the server is limiting it's bandwidth to each palyer than having a large netspeed on your end will do that... From what I've read...

As far as the traffic I've never looked at it closely so can't say...

The downstream is ok, it's the upstream that messes up.
Anything above netspeed 2000 increases the ping, along with a packet loss (up) of 30 to 50%

Do you have your network settings in UT correct. Maybe it is on dial up or isdn or lan. change it to cable - xDSL
