Make sure your card has good cooling! If you go with a different heatsink/fan or ramsinks...make sure you do not get any thermal paste all over! I cant stress that enough, I almost lost my Ti4600 because of it
Some monitors like to fuzz out if you run them close to out-of-spec. I killed one running it at 85 Hz when it the box said it was specced for 80 at 1280x1024. I guess I had OCed my monitor. LOL. It definately kille dit though, so that's the only thing I'd watch.

Overclocking your Video card.
Make sure you have sufficient cooling before you attempt to overclock it , some people put extra fans before they adjust anything. However, most of the time you dont have to adjust the Core speed and the Memory speed little by little in increments of 10mhz if you see little artifacts on the screen such as corruption then adjust it down one notch, it should be ok to use at that speed.
Overclocking your monitor.
Dont overclock your monitor unless you know what youre doing, often people adjust they're monitor rates without knowing the frequency it will go up to. If you go higher than the suggested refresh rate, then sooner or later theres a good chance youll blow up your monitor, well not blow up, but it will die on you.

30 or 40MHz is a lot for a GF2MX card...

hmm even thought I overclocked almost till the max for my card ( which is from 143 to a 178 ) I don't see much of a performance increase. Now im back to the default value as I will be getting a better card next month (Read thread "Geforce 2 Ti or Geforce 4 MX 440? ") and also my exams are coming up, so I don't see any point of overclocking for now.

Btw I read from a lot of articles saying that overclocking the core of the Geforce 2 MX card is kinda useless compared to overclocking the memory as the performance is mostly depending on the memory's bandwidth. So this means even if I overclock the core, it still doesn't give much of a performance right?
