For comparison purposes I have the demo because it's not available in Canada yet. On the Australia track I was averaging 28 frames per second with full detail except mirrors, @1024 by 768, 32bit colour. You have to remember that becasue some tracks have more details like trees (Monza) performance will vary from track to track.
I've got a
iP4-1,5Ghz
GF4 Ti4600 128 Mb
1,1Gb Ram 133
SB Live!
XPpro
Nvidia Drivers 29.xx
No shared IRQ....
I only hit when alone on track 20-35 FPS (hit CTRL-F while on track to see FPS).... Other with a gf3 got 40-50.... how much do you got????
I got 20-35 fps on 1024x768-16bit 4xFSAA and same on 1280x1024-16bit NOFSAA......
The GF4 should hit at least 40-50...... !!! where is the problem???? PLZ help, i get frustrated here :s
You're running a low-speed Pentium 4 off of SDR RAM is what the problem is. The reason you see the same frame rates at different resolutions is because the video card is carrying most of the weight. Your cpu and memory are the bottleneck.
I can get 50-60fps at 1280x1024x32 with 2-tap anisotropic filtering with my GF3/TBird 1400/256MB DDR@175MHz. When all the cars are on screen it dips to about 25fps. At lower resolutions, it flies.
