i have been on the site you gave me,and downloaded the voodoo4/5 drivers,1.8c,had a load of trouble.first of all, igot rid of my own drivers,1.7,then installed the 4/5 ones, then it went haywire, eventually,i got rid of them, and installed my own drivers, and had the system back to normal.which 4/5 drivers did you load from that site, perhaps i loaded the wrong ones.any advice would be very helpful.thanks.

    from x3dfx is

I used To have before the drivers 1.07
but I had a lot of problems with some games which require directx 8.1
so I tried the voodoo4/5 drivers and most the games it work Really well
BTW:I do not uninstall my previous drivers and everything work fine.

no problem.i did try what you told me last night unknowingly,i loaded the 1.07 ones to get it back to normal, then thought i would try the 1.08.04c,i didnt have any more trouble.but reading your post today,i went into the driver details in devices, and i have the 4.12.01.0666.
now i tried operation blockade, which requires the 8.1 drivers in the voodoo card, but no joy,it says,no 3d accerration devices, tried also on a few games that need those drivers, but no go.it looks like i will have to get myself another card, coming over to usa next month, detroit,so im thinking of getting a ati radeon le 8500 128mb,and hopefully will get it cheaper than in the uk.thanks for your help anyway.

    HI:To amanda123
what dxdiag report about your video card
    start/run/dxdiag
it should told you if you have any problem
with your video card or with your driver
    also go to start/Run/msinfo32/
    in microsoft system information
look in your left hand for conponents and click on the + To explorer it
double click on the problems Devices and there you can see if you Have any problem with your video card or with your drivers.
    Good luck

done those 2 things,in dxdiag,no problems, except agp texture acceleration not available,direct3d acceleration enabled, and also directdraw acceleration enabled, also has the 1.0.8drivers i put in,and also directx8.1.no forced hardware,or conflicts either, about the agp accelaration,is that because the voodoo doesnt use the agp like other cards do? when i loaded the via drivers,i didnt use the turbo ones, just the standard ones,as i thought the turbo ones are only for the agpx4.i have only the via drivers 4.28,never upgraded them,as everything seems to work okay, could that be the trouble?thanks

This is just one reason why the original Beach Head for Commodore 64 was way better - no hardware related problems! 3D? Whats that?

(Has anyone tried the original BTW?)
