Question concerning GTA3 (brits, aussies, answer me)

OK I have this question... does it bug you guys that that car games in general drives on the RIGHT side of the road whereas you are used to driving on the LEFT side of the road? I'm very curious.

Yup, and it would be so easy to implement a fix too, just a check-box in a menu!

I haven't played NFS-IV in a while but I do seem to remember that when playing the Durham Road track in the UK that vehicles did drive on the left. Maybe I imagined it though, to be honest it was the kind of game where you drove wherever the hell you wanted. After all, you get used to having both lanes to yourself in the straight race modes .

I hadn't realised what a superb game GTA3 is supposed to be, it looks like an essential purchase.

hmm gta3 runs really bad on my computer i dont know why, it runs great at 800x600x32 of my buds athlon 850,geforce ddr... i cant even play it at 640x480x16.. does this game not like my ol radeon or something?

i have tried the newest ati drivers.. they were just as bad so i went back to omega's

I hate to play the part of the history teacher here, but time for some education about left/right hand driving.

You guys in the states USED to drive (on horses ofcourse) on the left (like us Brits) in the early years of English colonization, and gradually changed to the right when you gained your independence. By the early 1800's you were pretty much all driving on the right.

Canada however (and I mention this as I see a guy above is from there) was still driving on the left as late as the 1920's. However, only in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Ontario and Quebec have always driven on the right because the first European settlements in these areas were French.

And if you want to go WAAYYY back to settle the argument, evidence suggests that the Romans drove on the left.

I also suffered from the getting in the wrong side of the card syndrome that MuthaFunker speaks of. Doesn't matter in GTA3 as the people generally get out anyway. Sometimes it take a little too long and a cop gets more of a chance to drag you from your car...
I do this in real life too as in Italy where I work a lot I have to get in the opposite side and when I get back to the UK and get a lift in a car I walk round and try to get into the drivers side by mistake
Takes me a couple of days to re-adjust.
Also I have to concentrate on stopping saying "Ciao" all the time...
