Anyone with a fast machine and Flight Simulator 2002

    Hi there,

There is a 'frame-lock' slider in Flight Simulator 2002 that locks the amount of frames the simulator displays. If you have a fast machine, lock your frames to 20, which is all you need for a fluid game (even acknowledged by MS). Now, I do state you need a fast (perhaps 'faster') machine for this to work.

Once your frames are locked and running smoothly, your hardware starts concentrating on visual effects rather than producing more needless frames. What you see then is quite outstanding!

Thanks for the tip...I'll have to check that out myself. FS2002 is definately an improvement over the previous versions; there is much more detail, and the major airports and cities actually look more realistic now. Even the little county airport I fly out of myself looks better. Gotta give the developers of this sim some props.

Yes the latest version rocks... the previous (flight sim 2000 sucked wind) I think the 10 dollar rebate for owners of flight sim 2000 wasn't enough. I wasted my money on that one. I had top notch pc with cutting edge card and still couldn't get decent frame rates with visual quality at lowest setting. I threw it out. worthless. This game should have been released as A PATCH for flight sim 2000 or an add on for 19.99 not 50 BUCKS!
