the game is really good..but thats juist because I'm a huge fan of silver age comics...the graphics in the game are simply awesome..but there are a couple gameplay issues that need sorting out..but nothing so severe that you'll want to stop playing.
I loved it. 9/10 as well. But I wouldn't say 'only because I'm a huge fan of silver age comics'. I'm not a HUGE fan (I collected them when I was a kid like everyone else...and watched tons of those cartoons). I just really liked the game's characters, originality, humour, squad-based tactical combat, fully destructable environments, story, and RPG elements.
Since finishing the SP, I've built about 4 30k characters and taken them online. It takes little while to sort out the multiplayer quirks, and character making, but once you do it's pretty fun as well.
But I'd say there was more emphasis put on a fun single player game then a deep multiplayer.
I'm a bad judge of how many hours it took to play the game. I don't pay attention to stuff like that. But 22 missions at, say, 1.5 hours per mission. 30 hours. Just a guess though. I completed most/all of the secondary missions and can be kinda a perfectionist...

now that my specs are respectable, I might as well list them again:
2500+ Barton @ 2346mhz, Swiftech MC462a/80mm Sanyo Denki fan
Abit NF7-S v 2.0
2x256 Ocz PC3500 DDR
128 mb ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Lian-Li PC-68 case
Enermax 431 watt PS
blah blah blah

It took me approximately 15 hours or so..but I think I kinda cheated when I made my own custom hero and recruited him when I had 15000 prestige points..but I still had to do alot of work to get all those points..so it wasn't exactly easy.
alot of loading saved games, because you keep getting k.o'ed alot.
If you didn't know about this page, it's the ultimate FF skins and models archive. There's some great stuff at that site. I sat for three hours yesterday downloading every custom model and skin I liked. The only thing is is that I have to insert them all into the character folders manually... It'd be nice if someone made a skin/model installer for the game.

Careful when your taking those custom skins into multiplayer. Transfering your skins to all the players can take a long time -- especially if someone's using dial-up.
The collection of skins available is awesome though.
I'd like to see a patch to deal with some of the multiplayer quirks. And when an expansion comes out I'll be the first in line to buy it.

I can't wait to see some of the mods available for this game. From the FF forums I've been to, there seems to be a big push for a Transformers complete conversion mod. I'd kill for that. The models are getting pretty exciting too now that people are making ones with custom moves and animations.
