    Performance tip MOHAA

I found that tip in a MOHAA forum:
Using 16 rendering with 32 bit textures performs much better than 32 bit rendering, and the visual difference is really small; no color banding in clouds and water.

    I also have a tip:

Buy a good video card. A GeForce2 or less doesn't do this game any justice.

Why not? The game doesn't utilize any GF3/4 features AFAIK.

Your right the game doesn't...it however does utilize the power behind a GF3/GF4/R8500

Give me a break! I have a GF2 Pro (210/450) and it runs MOHAA GREAT with everything turned up at 1280x1024x32. The ONLY scene that gave my system problems was the snow scene. Ya, the GF4 TI series cards will run the game at greater FPS but its not like you are going to go, "HOLY COW, THIS IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME WITH THIS CARD!" I played MOHAA on a P4 1.8GHZ system with a GF3 TI500 and to tell you the truth, I didn't see any difference from my GF2 Pro.

You can definitely get by with a GF2.

I agree completely. My VisionTek geforce2 GTS still does just fine... It's just a tweaked quake3 engine anway.

My Geforce2 32mb Pro ran the game alirght...I'm just saying it looks a hell of a lot better on the radeon w/ 4x or 8x aniso turned on. You don't have to believe me...but hey your loss not mine Belive me I'm not saying that a GeForce2 Pro is a bad card...the only reason i replaced mine is because it was starting to crap out on me.

Fact 1: The first tip is free
    Fact 2: I'm cheap
Fact 3: I have a KyroII that anyway won't see a big performance jump by switching to 16bits

I have GeForce 2 Pro and the game runs smooth and looks great.
Wuzup101, you must be playing some pretty demanding games if the GeForce 2 can't handle it. I do consent that newer games take advantage of new features and technology and in some cases require them to function smoothly but you must be pushing it to the extreme to have it wuss out.

I run it with my original GF3 and it runs great even with 4X FSAA 9-tap on at 1024x768, 32 bit resolution. I personally think a GF2 would struggle with 4X FSAA on running that game. I also overclock my card to 250/540 at times and things just get smoother.
