Anyone else bought Blue Shift yet?

I picked up blue shift this weekend to get a break from playing warcraft. Don't know if I like it. Seems kind of boring like the first half life.

way too short and nothing drastically new.

'Hi-Res'...yeah...sure, that wasn't anything great. they could have at least put in new mods, and maybe newer weapons and enemies.

    not worth the $$

I liked the high res, but I woulda figured they'd have put it out as a patch just to be nice. Valve is really pushing to make a buck nowdays.

it's not that its a bad game. it should have just been a free addon/mod to HL. a standalone.....a legitimate standalone...i wouldn't call it that.

Rip N Tear is right...Valve really is needing $$.

    q2hunter.

    that's actually what I did.

I think that Gunman Chronicles also wasn't great, and too expensive for a mod that originally was planned to be for free. The gfx weren't better than Half-Life's.

Agree. I think the graphics were sometimes even worse and it also lagged unacceptably in some occasions on my system, which is still a good step higher than the minimum requirements. The gameplay and weapons features were good, but the storyline was IMO a carbon copy of Half-Life. That could have made a very good free mod, but not worth a full game, especially at the price it's selling...

That's what I've been calling it, it's pretty poor, way too short, and nothing compared to the original Half life.

Gunman Chronicals is pretty poor too. Opposing force is reasonable, but there is a new CS single player game coming out which may be worth looking at.
