Thanks!!! The older doom games are still fun, and I can't wait for this one to come out. The screen shots only worked for the thumbnails, the larger versions from that site only gave me the red x indicating they couldn't load.
Mannn i just watched the video, and the Geforce 3 is going to Mac first starting at the end of March eh?According to Mr. Jobs at apple it will only added to a new system BTO for an extra $600 clams.Anyway yeah i loved the look of the new Doom models and the power of the G3.Now if i could only sell my Ultra card,go back to my 32GTS,and wait alittle while!!

Here is an excerpt from John Carmack's latest .plan file : "All of my advocacy is focused on making sure that there will be a completely clean and flexible interface for me to target in the engine after DOOM, and I think it is going to happen."

If pro is the opposite of con, What is the opposite of progress ?
While I am very much looking forward to the next Doom title, I know that one of my favorite things about the original game will be missing. That is the ability to get mobbed by 30+ monsters at once, and not have any slowdown. With the level of detail I saw in those awsome screenshots, that just ain't gonna happen with this game (don't start with me about sprites and polygons).
For those who still enjoy the old Doom, but want to use Quake style key bindings and mouse looking, have a look at this. http://www.newdoom.com/jdoom/
It'll also add a few neat effects to the game like lens flares, and dynamic lighting.

They're resurecting Wolfenstein too, that looks stunning.
To be honest, I always thought ID went from Doom to Doom2 to Quake to Quake2......
Oh well those shots look nice, should be a good game.
