Can some one please tell me more bout Counterstrike ?

I saw the new version 7 of Counterstrike. All I know that it is a addon for Half-Life. But is it any good and what features are there. Is it multiplayer only or is it like a whole new expansion set with new maps etc. etc.

Just to ellaborate on what Worktruck said, it will be on sale with the original Half-Life.

However if you have Half-Life now then it'll still be free to download.

No, It comes bundle with HL or as a upgrade to hl like the OF ones did...
But U can´t dl it for free since it´s no longer a beta and Valve wants to earn money since they have co-worked alot with the cs-team

It's available for free download at http://www.counter-strike.net/ . v1.0 will also be available there for free download. In fact, when the retail release was initially announced a while back the team stressed the point that the free download was always going to be available.

For people who don't own HL, you can either buy the Half Life Platinum Edition (HL, OF and CS) to get the full HL experience, or just Half Life: Counter Strike to get the CS multiplayer stuff without any single player gaming. CS is still going to be free though if you have HL.

I forget how much the Platinum edition is going for (lots), but current talk on HL:CS has it at the US$20 mark. Not bad considering you'd pay more than that for UO or Everquest, and CS doesn't charge by the month.

CStrike is a good MP game. I like the 4-5 minute rounds. There is a good variety of maps, and with weapons up to squad automatics, and sniper rifles there is something for everyone .

Counterstrike is a fantastic game (I think it's the best m/player experience u can have)but to really get the most out of it try to play it over a L.A.N ,not just for the lag factor but the teamwork makes the game and if your sat next to the other 4 or 5 players on your team you can work out some wicked strategies and hurl some verbal abuse at the other team.
I know it's difficult to find/set-up a L.A.N
but if you get the chance...........
