Star Trek : Elite Force = Ripp off

I got this game this weekend and boy was I shocked. It runs on the Quake 3 engine and is similiar to Q3 in every way. Even the after match statistics etc. is the same. Think that Activision is ripping us hard paying game buyers off. I mean, one could actualy just d/l the mod and use your current Q3 cd. What do you guys think ?

I don't mind that the game is based on the Q3 engine. What bothers me is that I completed the game in less than one day. I was just starting to think that it's a great game, then it was over.

It would have been a rip off except for the fact that it does include an excellent but fairly short single player mode. You can't download that anywhere else.
I've been playing this game with my new Geforce2MX at 1024x768x32 and max details and it looks very impressive, a comparison with my previous V3 2000 which ran like crap on 800x600x16 at normal detail.

So far I think it's all right. A lot of cut scenes and it does look great on a GTS. I haven't really played it for huge chunks at a time, so I don't know about the length. The multiplayer is pretty fun. It will get better with more maps.

I also bought this game for the single player part, and found the shortness to be unacceptable . I also hate cut scenes, just give it to me Half Life style. Dues Ex was also begining to annoy, (but nowhere near as much), with the cut scenes. When will they realise these are not a must have requirement to make a good game.

I don't mind cut scenes as long as they enhance the story. I though Deus Ex did a good job in doing that. It made the 3 different perspectives of what JC should do a little easier to keep track of and kept the story flowing.
