Anyone got DeusEx to run on WinME?

I'm not sure if it's WinME's fault, but that is the conclusion I am lead to believe.

I sed to have k6-2 450 and a v3 2k pci. It wouldn't run in WinME. When I installed it on Win98SE, it was working.

    Now I got P3 700@966, 128Mb RAM, ASUS CUV4X, ASUS v7700 Geforce2 GTS Pure 32MB. And I get the same error.

    When I run deusex.exe, I get this:

When I click OK, I get

When I click Close, I get

    Running Detonator 6.31 drivers, VIA4in1, DX7.0a

    Any ideas?

Did you uninstall it and then reinstall it? If not try that. It should work.

I've had it running under WinME, so I don't think that that's the problem.

It could be a driver conflict with ME. I had it running a few weeks ago on ME. I had the same problem as you and i reinstalled the drivers and it worked. ^shrug^

I have had it running on 2 of my pc's fine with windows ME. Plus both pc's have nvidia cards so I dont think its a video card problem.

I think, I figured it out. The problem is with MS's DX7.0A that is bundled with WinME. When I first installed DeusEx, I didn't install its DX7.0a. When, today, I reinstalled it, it worked fine.

Still, it's a bit jerky even with the beta DX patch.

And it gave me a similar GPF and threw me out during game play after about 15 minutes. Not sure if this is a consistancy yet. Will try again later...

I just checked "Install DX7.0a" in the DeusEx setup.
