Blade,
As you might know Outcast 2 and Delta Force 3 will be polygon based/hardware accelerated.
I loved to play Outcast; seems like you don't see the pixels anymore after some time of playing.
The best positional 3D sound is in Thief and Thief II, even on just two speakers.

I played all the way through Delta Force and hated every min of it Graphically. The game was good however which kept me at it. tried the Outcast demo and didn't like it enough to overcome my total voxel dislike.
I'm glad to see so much praise for the MW2 soundtrack, as I thought it was only me that rated it, (I like the ambience of the whole game, I hope they get it back again in MW4)
Just got PC zone and there is an article about TR5 and 6 in it
I think that the music in Unreal Tournament was really good. But I reamember way back when I used to play Doom and Doom 2, Those tracks where so addicting that i hummed them when playing.

I would have been shocked and dismayed to see MW2 not mentioned! MW2 is one of the all-time great game soundtracks... it's not just you that thinks that! That was a great soundtrack... epic, sweeping and moody. Absolutely perfect. (and redbook audio is a good thing when you have room on the CD for it... )
I think that the Q2 soundtrack is awesome, I listen to it even when I'm not playing the game. It gives you an energy surge I also like all of the music from the Age of Empires series, they do put a lot of effort into their music.

Total Annihilation had a really cool Classical/sci-fi soundtrack.
I loved how the music would build as you got ready for battle - it really got the blood pumping. Then after the battle was over, it would get all mellow again - just the thing to calm you down.
Descent 2 was the only CD that I actually took away from the computer to go play on my car stereo. The redbox music was sweet. I also think the MechWarrior soundtracks were good too though.

The battle music is class but the building music is a tad depressing
