Zero-ping is when somebody plays on their own server. Thus, for them, there is no lag, and everything moves smooth as butta... Sniping the head off your opponent is as easy as taking down a bot, because you don't have to lead. The unfortunate OTHER player, on the other hand, has to deal with [typically abysmal on a 56k connection] packet loss, quarter-second latancy, choppiness, etc. It's a *huge* advantage for a zero-pinger.
However, if both people are LPB, or on a connected DSL or cable network, the zero-pinger advantage isn't that bad, even over 1000+ mile distances, if the network is good. I've played duels where my ping is a packetlossless 80ms, and they're playing on the server; with the exception of sniper weapons, it's pretty fair.
ok, computer is fixed (finally) had to reinstall everything like 50 times a day (including windows). so when are we playing the game of 2 on 2? me and np vs cypress and huge.
|ronin|an_azian, da_killa vs. =c/\f=cypress (or something like that), huge (???)

do you want me to make a server, or i kind just find one with 0 ppl and we'll play 1 on 1 or 2 on 2 if np wants to play. you get another person. we could always just meet in chat and figure out what to do. also, what's your UT name? i might have seen you around before.

You would have a huge (yes, pun intended) advantage in terms of ping/packet loss if you made the server as I would have if I made the server. I would (in the past) suggest heat.net but they're going under at the end of October. Anybody running a UT server that is sort of in the middle of USA? Since CG is east coast and I'm west coast?
Or any other suggestions you have CG...I'm just Huge on UT, if you have ICQ, msg me tomorrow night at @ 6-6:30pm my time (hopefully). I'm game to anything.

I'm in Albany. I don't know all of the server commands, but i can learn them...btw, i'm on a T3 LAN. average ping is 10-50 (all across the USA) i guess thats my only plus.
could you please please please serve for us...maybe tomorrow? i don't think that Huge would have work on Sundays, and i don't have school. can't be too late though cuz i have school the next day. what do you say?
thanks!
