    Does this mean that Unreal 2 will perform adequately...

    Sounds good, but call me cynical if you like but shouldn't that be the general plan anyway without trumpeting about it on the web?. UT (although good) is really an Unreal online mission pack like team fortress, counter strike.

    Using the old engine was a cop out and making it a separate purchase it should have had a newer (non glide) engine IMO.
