Bellevue, WA (August 30, 2000) - Sierra Studios(tm) and Valve L.L.C. today announced the holiday 2000 release of Half-Life(r): Platinum, an incredible collector's edition that includes all the single and multiplayer games in the award-winning Half-Life franchise.
"Half-Life has proven to be much more than an action game," said Jim Veevaert, vice president of marketing at Sierra Studios. "The success of the original product combined with the success of its single and multiplayer add-ons have established it as a movement in electronic entertainment. Half-Life: Platinum represents both a collector's item and an easy point of entry for new gamers wanting the complete set of games in this amazing franchise."

Available on PC CD-ROM, Half-Life: Platinum contains the original Half-Life: Team Fortress Classic, Half-Life: Opposing Force(R), the number one online action game--Half-Life: Counter-Strike*, and a collection of top MODs (game modifications) created by members of the Half-Life community.

Well, it depends on price but I'd say just buy HL and Opposing Force (or get them packaged together)when they go on sale and find the rest online. You get CS from the latest patch anyway and the latest TFC too. It's a hefty download for modem users but it's free (unless your an economy person and don't believe anything is free, in which case I should say it's free except for the opportunity cost involved).

Still, Huge is right it would be good to pick up if you haven't tried it and want it all at once (or if you are lazy). This reminds me of Lucas repackaging Star Wars over and over. Okay, okay...I'll get off the soap box now.
