I was playing UT with FSAA enabled at 1024x768 and found that, although it looked incredibly good, it made me so sick I felt like I was going to throw-up all over the place! I changed resolution to 800x600, but it didn't help much.
Anybody else experience any similar problems like this with FSAA?
I could really care less about FSAA; it's not a feature that I'd care for. I don't know why this seems to be a big issue for nvidia/3dfx/ati. Guess the jaggies are forever burned inside my brain

Hm...could somebody explain to me...why the hell do you need FSAA when playing 1024x768?? At resolution that high, there are no jaggies. Anyone?

I agree. FSAA is a waste of time. When you are busily fragging your heart out, you don't have the time to notice whether or not there are tiny jaggies. I could care less and don't pay any attention to that sort of thing.
As long as the color's decent (16-bit is good enough for me) and the res is high, I'm happy.

This is a beginning for FSAA so It will take a time to become a good accepted feature. Current hardware doesn't have the power to do it justice IMO and Q3 looks better without it for me.
Kuzia that depends on what size monitor you have 1024x768 looks pretty jaggie on a 21"
I think it is one of the best "new" features and has great potential to improve the image quality. Nvidia need a hardware solution to compete though.
i heard that when FSAA was enabled at high resolutions, it makes everything kind blurry, to see the progress of motion or something. kind of like when you wave your hand in front of the screen, you see your hand move, so the FSAA blurs it or something. that makes ppl with motion sickness feel sick. dunno, but that's what i read on some site. i didn't know if they were for real or jsut kidding but it sounds kinda real to me.

FSAA wasn't created for all res if u are at 1280X1024 u wont need it, but it makes a big diff at 1152X864 and lower. FSAA was also created for people who have small and old monitors that can't do the res. I think it is a great feature that will be around for a long time. and u must have a fantastic magical monitor or really bad eyes if u dont see any jaggies at 1024X768! ( this is not an attack on anyone )
I thought I'd never use FSAA. I don't care about a few jaggies either. But then I tried it out because now I have a card that supports it. Like I said, the difference was pretty incredible (for me anyway). I just wish it didn't make me sick.
I'm sure many people will think it's a worthless creation. I'm like that about 32-bit color. I guess I don't see colors too well because I honestly can't tell the difference between 16bit and 32bit when gaming.
coolguy867, that theory is interesting and sounds legit to me.
Oh, I have a 19" monitor and the jaggies are quite noticeable (and annoying if you're accustomed to hi-res) at 1024x768

Stu your probably more sensitive to it than others everybody sees things differently and voodoo has admitted that they did extend the pixel blurring a touch for the washing out of lines.
FSAA, drops the frame rate too much so I play without it. Will try playing with it and see if I feel the same as u Stu.
