    Why don't games come on DVD?

    I see all these games coming out on multiple CD's. Why don't they put those on a DVD? I know not everone has a DVD-Rom but they should give you the option in case you have one. I thought the DVD revolution would take off better than it has.

    Goff,
    There are a few i know of that are on dvd. It seems to be comming around very slowly. At first the reason was that there werent enough dvd players in computers to justify but now i believe they are in the works.

    I know Riven came out on dvd. I'd be curious to know what the sales of dvd vs. cd-rom packages was. It would have been nice to have D2 on dvd and not have to deal with 3 disks. I sure hope game manufacturers give it a close look when they publish new games in the future.

    They will soon enough.....because once DVD-ROMs become more of a standard it will be huge..because simply DVD-ROMs transfer faster and:

    CD=650 MB
    DVD= 5.2 GB

    I know Baldur's Gate is on DVD- I ,ofcourse, have the 5 CDs. Would be nicer, but people with DVDs in ther towers are still a minority.
