I wouldn't hold my breath for this one. As soon as I get my dsl upgraded and build my 2nd system, I'll have a dedicated server for UT and Q3.

Maybe you can help me then Huge as I was wondering what was the best way to set-up a, (Cheepish) network of maybe 5 PC's max at any one time, together in one house (not for online play). Obviouslly network cards, but which type and what about USB? is there a way to do it with the USB interface? would it be better?. Would I need a dedicated server, that couldn't be played on? I got some Ideas, just want some input from those that have been there done that and got the T-shirt

I would go the 10/100 baseT and a hub (4-8 ports). USB may be easier to set up but you are limited to 12mB/s speed (until USB 2.0 comes out). You don't necessarily need a dedicated server for your network (since all the pc's will be fairly close by); I've run listen servers on my bro's network and generally for quake 1, we got pretty low ping times.

Why won't everyone get on the AL??? UT/Q3A games usually start from there.

I know there are a lot of UT servers out there...But a UT Hardware Central game server will allow HWC members who play UT online to meet and interact in another way other than the discussion boards...It'll be also great to know who among the members is Top Dog in this game.

We already have a SETI team...Why not an HWC UT clan??
