'File not found' error when searching the archives

    Hey Mods.

Sometimes when searching the archives for old threads on a certain subject a thread will be found but when you click on the link you're redirected to an internet.com 'file not found' page. I'm talking about threads in the, say, general, CPU, or motherboards forums...not in forums that are closed.

Are there alot of threads that have disappeared from the archives? That would a shame if it's the case. Or is it just, for some reason, that the thread can't be located now and may be retrieved later?

    thanks alot.

The 404 error you're seeing is an indication that the thread died/is dead. There are few causes. User and or mod might have attempted to delete it and it didn't go well. Sometimes when a thread is moved it gets eaten up (corrupted)

    Hi Steve.

I know your a mod at VDR, I'm a member there too, so I guess you've got experience with this. It's too bad, some good stuff is lost forever I guess.

Besides that, I like the search function on this engine. It's easy to use and seems to work pretty well.

    cheers.
