PowerLeap PL-Pro/II Pentium Pro CPU Upgrade

Wanting to upgrade that old Pentium Pro CPU? HardwareCentral takes a look at the PowerLeap PL-Pro/II, a 533mhz Celeron device that plugs into a Socket-8 motherboard.

The one thing that ticks me off about the article is the fact that Compaq Proliant 800's aren't compatible with this product. I realize the reviewer was just stating the facts, but most of my servers are aging Proliant 800's that I still have no reasonable upgrade path for. Other than that, if you had servers that could accept the upgrade then it would definitely be useful for those aging servers to last a little longer.

I had some trouble with a GAA board, installin Powerleap...it projects off one end of the Socket7 and there happen to be a couple of condensers there, so it just physically won't fit. But I had it running on some older boards (S5/S7) at 450 and 500 MHz.
Life isn't THAT serious...or is it?
